The data collection instrument that will be used in this paper is the questionnaire. Hence, the survey based questionnaire will be developed in a structured manner to ensure that the standard questions are presented to all participants (Liamputtong, 2013). Total of 10 questions will be developed that will be sent to the participants digitally with the use of SurveyMoney.com website and emails. Likert Scale is used in developing the questionnaire to obtain the responses of the participants in terms of value ranging from 1 being the lowest agreement to the asked question and 5 indicating the highest agreement.
The participants will be made aware of the voluntary nature of the research and they will be informed about the ethical consideration of research (Smith, 2012). Random sampling will be performed to select 10 individuals from the media organizations that are engaged in news report, reality television shows and documentaries. It will provide the critical insight required about the manner in which these three media texts formats are approached by the media representatives (Liamputtong, 2013). The data will be analyzed with the interpretational approach. The literature review and findings obtained from the questionnaire will be integrated to present with the final findings of the research.
The primary limitation of this study is the qualitative research method selected due to the time and cost advantages. The selection of quantitative research on this topic in future will be able to provide a link between different variables of the media text (Liamputtong, 2013). It will be useful to establish the association between realism, mediation and reality reflection ability of the selected three media texts (Smith, 2012). The small sample of the participants is another limitation of this research as the limited number of individuals can limit the extent of the final research outcome in case the participants do not have experience in the three media texts that are focus of the research.
