Without Soviet Union threat to constrain U.S aggression, it seems U.S has become an invader of serial nature who destroys other nations such as Muslim countries.
Lessons from Korea War: There were diverse lessons which U.S still needs to learn and follow appropriately from this war. These lessons are described below-
Inconsistent goals of the military with no war based congressional declaration.
Presuming early on the civilian leadership part and exaggerated American military strength view by dismissing the ability of the opposite forces.
Action of the military lacked objectives of geographical nature to maintain control and seizure.
Action of military against the forces of enemies that had sanctuaries which are off-limits mainly.
The role of UN was limited in Korean War. The forces of United Nations in the Korean War followed the South Korean invasion by North Korea. Considering this, 21 United Nations member nations committed to help and support the South Korean land which till now was not a member nation of the same. The United States role in the Vietnam War started after the World war and started into complete commitment during the war of Vietnam. The UNs role was to stop the communist expansion into Vietnam. The way in which both the wars were fought was different in terms of goals wherein Vietnam was undermined by United States.
