A common thread exists between Nietzsche and Bateson. They are a general critique that human activities and the definition of morality are discovered to vary between these two theorists. There is discussion of the ways in which the people have been changing the rules of ethics and morality. The ways of western ideologies moving towards a common ideology of human productivity are critiqued. The altruistic notions of the people and providing aide to others have been replaced with the quest for productivity and growth. The negative tenets of capitalism and roots of these issues have been discussed passionately by both the theorist. The importance of developing human spirit and the ways to look past the organized religion have been detailed in different ways and theories by both these philosophers (Calori 282). However, certain innate differences are originated to exist between the two theories that have been postulated by them. They are explored below.
The difference in the theories which are proposed by Nietzsche and Bateson is that Bateson theory discusses about the unknown and Nietzsche proposes Nihilism. The notions of common and collective unknown are that there could be positive connotations and development in the society. It essentially postulates that there could be a growth in the positive ideology in the unknown. Nietzsche is about the nihilism (Calori 283). Nihilism is about rejecting all positive notions and essentially stating that the nothing is permanent. It is a theory that conditions that nothing is worth the effort. It asks the people to understand that nothing in the world is permanent. It statuses that only abstract aspects exist in the society. This theory fundamentally states that nothing is positive and the growing trends of the society are deliberated to be mere elements that do not foster the values of human spirit. The rejection of human soul and organized religion is critiqued in the notion proposed by Nietzsche. Each one of the theories asks the people to look beyond the tangible events and to understand that there is abstract impact in the society
The ways of approaching life and the development in the society are starkly different. However, the common element and thread that exists is that the society is moving towards greed and unequal growth. A general critique in the current human societal development is echoed in the ways in which these theories are proposed.
To conclude, Nietzsche states that a metaphysical nihilism theory is the truth. Bateson looks for ways to ensure that the growth and people in the community are not fully perceived. An innate quest for truth and the need to foray into the different elements are discussed in the theories that are proposed by Bateson. However, Nietzsche alludes that in the world nothing permanent and no action of tangible production is needed. These are the innate differences in ideology. The issues of nothingness are an abstract reality that is proposed by Nietzsche. This can be alluded as a more negative connotation when compared with the theories that are proposed by Bateson. These were the important analogies that were derived from this analysis.
