Leadership Theory for the Character AlbusDumbledore–Analyzing the character of AlbusDumbeldore the traits fits more into Transformational leadership theory. The following traits of Albus explain clearly the justification for choosing Transformational theory for him. The character follows a proactive approach towards the situations. He motivates his followers to accomplish the tasks and show them a moral path where they can decide what is right and what is wrong. He allows others to make mistakes and learn from them and does not dictate the decisions upon them.
For each good action, the students were rewarded and any disobey of rules they were punished. The character AlbusDumbeldore exhibit following four factors:
Inspirational Motivation: Supports team work and provides motivation and encourages the team to focus on the goal. Leader provides promotion of vision and mission. Leader guides the followers so that they understand the vision and provide them with a sense of challenge and meaning. The same was done by Dumbeldore.
Intellectual Simulation: The leader does not criticize in public if any mistake is made (Barling, 2000). He always encourages the followers to come up with new ideas and accept them well. Dumbeldore was never hesitant to apply new ideas if the old ones are not working enough.
Idealized influence: A leader acts as a role model and gives direction to the followers and follow the same route what he expects his followers to follow. He scarifies his personal needs for them and leads them towards a moral path with high ethical values. The leader cannot be selfish and follow a right path. He gains the trust of his followers and they obey him. Dumbeldore has the same qualities.
Individualized consideration: Followers are rewarded for their innovations and each one is treated specially for his unique talent. The leaders are mentors and they always support the followers to make decision and implement them (Judge, 2004).
