Theory of personality suggests that there are two extreme behavioural characteristics which are split in personality of type A and type B nature. According to the literature review, this theory indicates that type A implies individuals which are motivated by working longer hours, tight deadlines and large work volumes (Elsbach, 2014). However, the personality of type B employee is opposite in nature, since it is more relaxed in nature due to which these type of employees do not undertake work properly and does not strive towards meeting the deadlines and delivering high quality (Deen et al., 2015). Therefore, it makes it critical for the managers to determine which employees can be categorized as type A or type B in order to apply an effective and different strategy to motivate them and drive the workforce towards the high performance levels.
The combination of Gestalt principles and Type A and B personality theory can be applied across the organizations for managers in order to ensure that these theories effectively allow the managers to become efficient with the workforce (Day et al., 2014). The managers can develop two strategies in order to effectively deal with the employees that can be classified across type A and B. The managers of the global organizations can adopt a set of perception for two kinds of employees (Colbert et al., 2014). The defined perception will allow the manager to identify different characteristics of the employees that enable the recognition whether the employee is type A or type B. Therefore, the type A employees of the organization can be perceived by the managers as the productive employees that can be motivated through allocation of challenging work with tight deadlines (Clegg et al., 2015). However, the type B employees can be viewed as the relaxed employees that can be motivated through informing them about the significance of their job and profile. The wide range of motivating techniques can be adopted with continuous feedback to motivate the type B employees by the organizational managers.
