One of the recent threats which have been recognized for the low level nations in the world is the rise in the levels of sea. There may be a number of locations in the world which are prone to large waves, hurricanes, tsunamis and the floods in the areas closer to the sea. It is estimated that there are around 20 million people, who are living under the risk of high tides and around 200 million people are under the risk of flooding during the temporary. In the recent times the issue of level of risk are increasing more and more. In this research paper, the discussion has been done on the geographical impact of the rise in sea levels in the community of Crescent Beach in British Columbia. This will be a challenge for the government as the region has a high population and it also serves as an important resource for the purpose of recreation. Also it is an important there should be a minimum damage from the rise in sea levels in these regions. It is clear that there is a lot of improvement is required in the technology in order to minimize the impact on sea level. It has been assumed that by the year 2100, there may be a rise in the sea level by 40 to 55 inches in the area of crescent beach. Thus, it is a serious concern.

Rise in sea levels has been impacting the area of crescent beach. It is observed that at this region there is a huge frequency of flood during the routine spring and winters. The impact of the same will increase more and more in the future. The sea level rise is affecting the coastal areas. Because of the complex interactions of the driving force of the sea is changing the shore line. Because of the rise in sea level there are geomorphic changes in the crescent beach and the area around the same. A large amount of sand is taken by the water of the sea every year. Also because of the same, there is a huge risk to the landmarks around the crescent beach. There may be the loss of landscape because of the rise in sea water level. Because of the rise in sea level there may be the formation of sea cliffs and dunes (Nicholas et al 1996, 301). These may be due to the accumulation of sand on one part and removal from another. The problem of sand-erosion has already been observed over and around these regions.
