They can be used for the productions of a number of synthetic routes used for the creation of the hybrid matrices. They are used to develop specific sensors. There is the need to control the textural characteristics that allows the tuning of the matrix permeability. The introduction of a wide variety of sol-gel hybrid is used for the optical coating, pH, solvents and ionic species monitoring. Current research is undertaken to increase the efficiency of the particles by using Phenyltriethoxysilane hybrids. This is an ongoing research that analyses the impacts of Phenyltriethoxysilane.
