In an understanding of my own social values and cultural values, I believe that everybody is born with equal rights, but the land and the political-social situation of the land put some people in danger of having these inalienable rights denied to them. In current situations around the world, human rights violations are happening every minute. Either it is genocide situations like the one happened in SriLanka or Rwanda, or it is human rights situations that force a large mass of people to move across nations in search of some place to live. It is both my personal perspective and my cultural upbringing that informs me that every people have basic rights and these cannot and should not be abused by anybody else. However, the review and discussions I read for this work inform me that human rights issue is real, and even with the formulation of government policies and more, it could so happen that an institutional breach of human rights can be happening without much awareness. It is necessary to create more awareness in society about this institutional breach of human rights in order to empower the people. More than creation of policies, empowerment and enforcement, it is necessary to work on awareness. Social issues like diversity concerns and human rights concerns need to work from the local community level and then have to help the community work from legislation at the top level. Merely applying law to protect human rights or to creation inclusion in diversity will not solve the problem. A conceptual level understanding of the theme of human rights has to be created for all individuals at family and community level and from this understanding, it is necessary to let individuals ask questions on their rights and make this as the root for creating newer legislations or regulations for protection.
