There is misconception that animated films/video are meant only for the children. Some of the most loved and greatest films made are animation. The world of animation is in constant hunt for next great film maker, which is one of the purposes of this paper. There are various types of animation that are sufficient to be fit for all active animators. The way of animating is described in a step-by-step format.
Animation should be scripted
The entire narrative should be written down first. There should be exclusion of the dialogues, but the facial expression and the actions must be included. There should be a clear idea as to the happenings that would occur before starting.
Making of storyboards
The next step is making storyboards. Through the animation, the storyboards show major scenes and actions with drawings. The overall story is narrated that can look like a comic book.
Making character models or drawing character sheets
A reference is needed by the animator so that the drawing of the frames can be looked upon that ensures that the characters resembles real from one pose to another and have a consistent looks. The characters drawn from different angles are with several different expressions (McLaughlin, 2013). Their clothes and accessories should also be drawn, particularly at times when at different scenes, there are changes into what they wear.
Making animation sketch
In a single frame, all main stages of the movement are shown, which is a single drawing drawn on a single paper piece. The resultant picture seemingly resembles conjoin quintuplets or similar to that. The purpose of such design is to ensure that there is natural look to the motions and there is correct alignment to the key frames.
Drawing of the key frames
The making of the characters in relation to its movements have some major stations, which are essentially the key frames (Beck, 2004). For instance, in case of animation showing the turn of right from left of a character, the key frames would be showing the left facing of the character and then right facing of the character.
Checking the flow
In order to see the how the movement is looking, the key frames are flipped.
Doing the inbetweens
Between the important animations, the small movements are the inbetweens. Therefore, starting should be with the image drawing, which should go between the two important frames directly. After this, the image going between the first inbetween and the key frame should be done (Beckerman, 2003). This process should be continued until appropriate number of frames is obtained in illustrating the movement (this is depended on the purpose of the animation).
Again checking the flow
The checking of the flow should be carried out constantly.
Drawings are cleaned up
Any stray marks or the sketch lines are cleaned up that distracted the character movement. There can also be a choice of inking the animation or the frame that depends on the animator’s plan with his work.
Animation is processed
The images are stitched together in Photoshop or any other relevant computer program in creating the final video.
