The aim of the micro teaching module is to enable the teacher to understand their areas of strength and weakness while teaching the student about the models of polite conversations. Content, question, materials chosen, lesson plan and the activities initiated for this class are discussed in detail in the following.The students were taught about the importance of developing conversational skills and developing a proper way of clothing to blend in with the crowd in a nightclub. This was chosen owing to the fact that it is a non threatening scenarios to learn about a culture.The main aim of eliciting questions were to understand the language and to make the students aware of the content. In this, the main aim of the content was to ensure that the students were able to learn the way of Australian way of having fun in the weekends.
It was estimated that the students learn about the dialogue and the Australian way of conversing with the people. Online you tube video, dialogue map and a worksheet were used to explain to the people. There was a teacher developed authentic working of a semi-structured nightclub dialogue. This was explained in the following.
The lesson plan was designed for the people who has gained more grasp of the language and want to blend in with the Australian people.
Dialogue map was used at the end of the session to make the people use the content that was learnt in the process. Dialogue map is a techniques to understand the discussions in a group (Breen and Rottman, 2014). The element are the person who does the mapping, shared display and use of simple graphical language. They are used used for understanding the situation. This was the main focal element.
The feedback that was received was that there was a general attention which was provided by the students and it enabled them to learn the content with interest.
Overall while developing the teaching sessions certain observations and inputs were received from the supervisor. These are explained in the following From the teaching process while developing the content initially, there was a lot of information for the students. The supervisor felt that this process could be tedious for the students. Based on which there were efforts taken to cut down. The supervisor inputs were used in the development of the content.
