Street fashion is defined in the broader context of fashion as having been derived from a not so popular culture as associated with the youth (McColl & Moore, 2014). It is derived from major urban centres and is more popular as an urban movement (Ritch, 2015). These are street styles that appeal to everybody local and give others a sense of the local attire and more. However, this also falls within the norms of blended fashion (Everett, 2008). French sociologist Jean Baudrillard used to make a classical interpretation about fashion. He thought that only within the framework of modernity, it was possible for fashion to exist. In the breaking of progress and innovation, fashion is found.

In the context of any culture, the old and the new always are meaningfully alternate. However, for people, since the enlightenment and the industrial revolution, there is only a history debate on structure which is of the change in a crisis. Modernity seems to set up a linear and a cyclical understanding of fashion, but street fashion is about changes happening at the same time and also encompassing lesser trends in those changes (Celjak, 2012). Where mainstream fashion is a product of technological progress, the production and the time of history, the latter street fashion are more about the inception of some changes. The inception is observed as a supreme value that exists in the daily life, although it is not a widely popular language. To understand street fashion, there are several mistaken notions of fashion that need to be clarified (Baptiste, 2012).
