The change happens when he meets Ho-jung who works as a bank clerk and decides to sell her organs if she cannot repay the debts of her father. He initiates a contract that the more dates they go on, the easier it is to pay off debts. Having agreed to this, an unexpected romance builds between them and a twist occurs in the movie when he is diagnosed with cancer (Lee, 2014). The relationship is left as such.

It began as a forceful date that blossomed into an unexpected romance.
As they entered into romance, he decided to quit his gang life and stayed committed to her. The balance between commitment and intimacy was handled well. However, he had to sacrifice his passion to enjoy relationship with her. This shows a lack of balance as per Sternberg’s love triangle. It also shows the possibilities for ambiguity at anytime as the break from his gang life is not thoroughly portrayed. The relationship intensifies when he was diagnosed with cancer. The movie ends with jeopardy state of Ho-jung.
Conclusion
The unexpected love between a bank clear and a gangster is the subject of the story. The ending of the story appears to be blunt. The balance is missing in the relationship as he leaves behind passion for the intimacy with her. There is a probability for sacrifice even in the aspect of commitment. This form of relationship does not seem to last on a longer run. There are more chances for him to break up with her due to his physical issue or mental sacrifice of passion (Lee, 2014). Moreover, the entire story works on law of attraction but the attraction looks temporary. The concepts of marriage and divorce look extremely unclear in this story as he is suddenly diagnosed with an illness. It does not depict her life post the diagnosis of him. The blunt ends and unexpected twists pose challenges for sustainability of this relationship between Ho-jung and Tae-Il. The intimacy between them has a chance to turn into a lust. This shows the weakness in their relationship.
