In terms of internal requirements there are many codes of practices that are derived directly to meet the WHS requirements. In terms of legislation, the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 NSW and the Work Health and Safety Regulation 2011 NSW are the two key acts in the NSW context. The Work Health and Safety Act 2011 NSW provides for:
A nationally balanced and consistent framework in order to secure the health and safety of workers and workplaces
The Act aims to protect workers and other people involved in the workplace from health, safety harms and attempts to eliminate completely or minimize such harms (in the current workplace the recommendation for emphasis on record keeping will be helpful to handle the issues)
