What motivates one culture does not necessarily motivate the other cultures. For example, people from Asia have more preference towards money as there is higher rate of unemployment and poverty in most of these Asian countries such as India. However, individuals from cultures such as UK and US are of the notion that their employees will offer them something beyond their reach such as offering them a chance to balance their work and life comprehensively. Offering more ways to balance personal and professional domains makes employees happier as they are able to spend more time at home with their family. An example of this type of extrinsic reward is offering employees to work from home for a day in a week. Extrinsically motivated employees have a tendency of focusing over competition or outcome of performance and this allows them better productivity.
Job Satisfaction: Satisfaction in job is a response of emotional nature which comes from an individual to their present condition at work while motivation is that force which drives for pursuing and satisfying the needs of an individual. From this perspective, it becomes evident that there is a link between satisfaction of job and motivation. There exist definitive links between the way in which one is motivated and their job satisfaction level. Commitment is one such factor. This has been confirmed from the interview transcript through the following quote used by the participant:
Commitment of employees is improved when employees are of the feeling that they are motivated. This in turn offers them with satisfaction.”
