With access to a vast amount of services from virtually anywhere, it was expected that it will be easy to work on the go. However, with increasing access to internet, also came an increased access to distracting items like internet based games, songs and comedy videos, etc. The impact on passing rate of students who are excessively involved with such phones is one of the indicators that they can impact on productivity. The health concerns discussed in the previous section also have indirect impact on the productivity of people. Among other indirect indicators of falling productivity is the falling level of concentration among students (Khan 291). While increasing use of cell phones is positively correlated with anxiety, it is also positively correlated with satisfaction with overall life. However, anxiety is negatively correlated with life satisfaction (Lepp, Barkley and Karpinski 348). This is a very interesting result because on the one hand cell phone addiction increases anxiety but on the other hand it also increases satisfaction with life. It is unclear which factor overrides the other, but given that increasing cell phone use has several other negative consequences, it is reasonable to assume that the satisfaction of life arising from cell phones will eventually be overthrown by the negative impacts.

Therefore, it is not just the students who are addicted to cell phones but teachers are also careless about their devices.
