In another video, there is a situation where the team members are arguing with each other and the product packaging team is looking disinterested in their work. Also there is external networking problem owing to all this, the project seems a failure. Here using the Hill’s model the team leader analyses the situation and decides that this situation needs action. He approaches the different teams and sees that there is relationship gab in one of the team and proper communication is not done. He also sees that there is problem with the third party license renewal because of which product is not getting transferred further.
The leader starts his approach and talks to teams in sorting out issues. The goals are reframed and the leader personally meets the third party vender and sorts out the issue related to marketing. With this approach, the team sees the growth in the current situation and gets their enthusiasm back and by this way following the Hill’s model the situation is rectified. There is a third situation where there were failures in some of the famous games owing to some task and relationship related issues which were identified and rectified to overcome the situation. Here also the Hill’s model of team leadership has been used.
The career in Starbucks is highly driven by leadership. There is a difference in Leadership and Appointmentship. Leadership is more of inner processes where there is recognition and people are willing to work under another person where as in Appointmentship, there is a concept of granting the power upon the people using external factors (Robertson, 2009). The manager career in Starbucks is based on leadership concept. This can be said this way because there are leadership models which have been implemented. Using the concepts of team leadership, a team work is done with a positive outcome. This can be seen in terms of the repeat customers and the profit associated with the company. The staff is motivated and the service is also fine. As being a manager, one has to monitor the situations and act wherever necessary, the structure is working pretty fine and there is no force of external authority imposed anywhere in the business which clearly suggests that Starbucks is not following Appointmentship rather pretty much implemented using leadership approach.
