Teitel discusses the game when he accidently stops in a sport channel while surfing the television. The reason for his stopping was the sheer excitement that he felt by looking at the sport and their style of play which he found to be very interesting. However to his surprise, his notion of the game being played by teenagers suddenly changed in moments when he found out that it was being played by women and they were in their 30’s. This surprise took him to think more about the game and he was able to compare between the bygone era game and the current one. According to Teitel, the game played by today’s’ women is similar to the ones being played by males 80-100 years back in both size and performance, and the men of earlier times are remotely close to their counterpart males of today. Bowling, however, discusses the game from a different perspective that it was more an undesired addiction before, but with changing times, he has become indifferent to the problems of today’s ice hockey. Bowling further addresses the business culture that has grown in the game with false patriotism for the game and that is what makes him and most men indifferent or rather careless about the happenings of the game. Bowling recollects the old charm of the game when it was actually played as a genuine sport andnot for any other purpose. People were more caring about the game and followed the game like maniacs, which today has completely changed into a careless attitude towards the game where most people are not bothered who wins or loses.
