The North Island stores are productive but the South Island stores do not meet the necessary targets. In fact, in the past 4 years the company divisions in the South have not shown any growth. Given this background context, the CEO has now recommended to John Stokes that some of the divisions of the company in the South should be closed and others like Dunedin must be monitored for growth. However, this CEO recommendation is not acceptable to the founder who wants to go with his plans. In the background context of these issues, this research report will attempt to apply theory to understand the situation of the firm and make recommendations on the same.
For the given case study, an applicative analysis of four theories was discussed. The theories were Teleological, Dialectical, Life Cycle and Evolutionary. In the discussion and analysis of the theories it has been found that no one theory would be important than another. It is the consideration of different perspectives of the theory that would actually present a more holistic understanding of the problem for the company.
